Variability: Onobrychis alba subsp. alba var. rhodopaea. Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 2001).
Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native to Italy, Southeast Europe (Balkan Peninsula and Romania) and Northwest Africa according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010a) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew). Onobrychis alba (Waldst. & Kit.) Desv. subsp. alba is native to Italy, Balkan Peninsula and Romania The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010b).
Habitat: Found in open habitats – grasslands, rocky terrains, sparse bushland.
Flowering period: Late spring to summer (MAY, JUN, JUL).
