Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Arenaria// Species: Arenaria leptoclados (Rchb.) Guss.

Variability: Arenaria leptoclados var. viscidula Williams

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1993).

Distribution: According to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011) which covers Europe and the Mediterranean, A. leptoclados can be found throughout Europe and in the Mediterranean Region, including parts of North Africa and West Asia.

Habitat: Found in open habitats – grassland, rocks, rocky terrains with shallow soil, sparse bushland, alongside roads.

Flowering period: Spring – early summer. APR, MAY, JUN.
