Taxonomy: Fam. Rosaceae// Genus: Rubus// Species: Rubus schleicheri Tratt.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1998).

Lifeform:  Perennial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Central and South Europe to Caucasus according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Found in the clearings and openings of forests, alongside mountain roads.

Flowering period:  Summer (JUL-AUG). Fruit ripens during late summer (AUG).
