Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (1998) and Tutin in Tutin at al. (1968).

Lifeform:  Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to West Siberia, China (Xinjiang) and Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Clearings and on the edges of forests, sparse woods.

Flowering period:  Early to mid summer (JUN-JUL). Fruit ripens in summer (JUN-AUG).
