Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976) as Crepis sancta (L.) Babcock, nomencl. ref. Univ. Calif. Pubi. Bot. 19: 403 (1941). Synonyms: Lagoseris sancta (L.) K. Malý, L. bifida (Vis.) Koch, L. macrantha (Bunge) Iljin, Pterotheca sancta (L.) C. Koch. The accepted name in the Euro+Med PlantBase is Crepis sancta (L.) Bornm, nomencl. ref. in Mitth. Thüring. Bot. Vereins 30: 79. 1913.

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to the Mediterranean and Iran, Arabian Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open and usually dry habitats – grassland, hill pastures, rocks and rocky terrains, river gorges.

Flowering period: Spring: MAR, APR, MAY.
