Taxonomy: Fam. Equisetaceae// Genus: Equisetum// Species: Equisetum ramosissimum Desf.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Micevski (1985).

Lifeform: Perrenial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native to Temperate and Subtropical Old World, Ethiopia to South Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal.

Habitat: Wet places near rivers, also found in somewhat drier conditions- in rocky areas in river gorges.
