Dichoropetalum oligophyllum (Griseb.) Pimenov & Kljuykov (syn. Peucedanum aequiradium Velen.)

Taxonomy: Apiaceae// Genus: Dichoropetalum// Species: Dichoropetalum oligophyllum (Griseb.) Pimenov & Kljuykov.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Matevski (2005) as Peucedanum aequiradium Velen., Sitzungsber. Königl. Böhm. Ges. Wiss. Prag 7: 36 (1889). The accepted name in The Euro+Med Plantbase (Hand, 2011+) is Dichoropetalum oligophyllum (Griseb.) Pimenov & Kljuykov in Willdenowia 37: 481. 2007.

Note: Differs from the typical form – Peucedanum oligophyllum (Griseb.) Vandas in having simple stem or with one branch in the upper part, 1-2 (3) umbels per stem, subequal rays up to 2 cm long, upper surface of rays with short hairs and pinkish corolla.

Lifeform: Perennial – hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med Plantbase (Hand, 2011+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Subalpine pastures and clearings of European beech forests. Recorded from c. 1450 m to 1900 m altitude.

Recorded localities: Kormina region, Mrtvichki rid, “Carev vrv” peak.

Flowering period: Summer: JUL, AUG.

Locality: “Carev vrv” peak.
