Genista carinalis Griseb.

Taxonomy: Fam. Fabaceae// Genus: Genista // Species: Genista carinalis Griseb.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (2001) and by Gibbs in Tutin et al. (1968).

Lifeform: Perennial, subshrub. Chamaephyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Southeast Europe to Turkey according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Found in dry grasslands, hill pastures, rocky terrains, river gorges, clearings and edges of forests. Recorded from the lower part of the mountain up to c. 1200 m altitude.

Flowering period:  Late spring to early summer (MAY, JUN).

Locality: ridge between “Kochanska” River and “Orizarska” Rivers.

Locality: village of Ratkovica region.
