Distribution: Native to the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe to Central Asia according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open and dry habitats- dry grassland/ hill pastures, rocky terrains.

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Late spring- summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.
