Determined according to the botanical keys provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski and Matevski, 2005).

Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Macaronesia, from West Europe to the Mediterranean and Iran, parts of Central and East Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew)

Habitat: Rocky terrains, river gorges, bushland.

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
