Taxonomy: Fam. Convolvulaceae// Genus: Cuscuta// Species: Cuscuta europaea L.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Matevski, 2010).

Lifeform: Annual, Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system; Parasite.

Distribution: Native from Temperate Eurasia to north India; Northwest Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal.

Hosts: Found on Humulus lupulus. Also parasiting on Urtica dioica, Sambucus ebulus and others (Matevski, 2010). According to Tutin et al. (1972) it is usually found on Urtica dioica and Humulus lupulus, but also on many other species.

Flowering period: Late spring- autumn (MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP).
