Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Tibet, North Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Garden, Kew).

Habitat:  Rocks and rock cervices, river gorges.
