Taxonomy: Fam. Aspleniaceae// Genus: Asplenium// Species: Asplenium adiantum-nigrum L.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (1985) and Crabbe et al. in Tutin et al. (1964).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Europe, West Asia to China, parts of Africa (Northwest and South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, Chad), North America- West Central U.S.A. to north Mexico; Hawaiian Islands according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Garden, Kew).

Habitat: Shaded rocks and rock cervices, river gorges, forests- under trees.
