Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula and Romania according to the Euro+Med Database (source: World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, 2010).

Habitat:  Pastures, rocky terrains, bushland, edges and clearings of forests.

Flowering period: Spring (APR, MAY).
