Taxonomy: Fam. Iridaceae// Genus: Iris// Species: Iris reichenbachii Heuff.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Webb and Chater (1980 in Tutin et al.).

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Geophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula and Romania according to the Euro+Med Database (source: World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, 2010).

Habitat:  Pastures, rocky terrains, bushland, edges and clearings of forests.

Flowering period: Spring (APR, MAY).

Locality: ridge between Lake Gradche and the gorge of the Orizarska River. Date: 07.05.2022.
