Distribution: Native to Africa, West Europe to Indian Subcontinent according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat: Wet habitats- river banks.

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Summer: JUL, AUG.
