Stachys plumosa Griseb.

Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Stachys// Species: Stachys plumosa Griseb.// Subspecies: Stachys plumosa Griseb.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Ball in Tutin et al. (1972) and Matevski in Matevski (2021).

Lifeform: Perennial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, 2010) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Balkan endemic.

Habitat: Hill pastures, sparse woods and clearings of oak forests, rocky terrains, river gorges, in the lower part of the mountain – recorded at to c. 400 – 700 m altitude.

Flowering period: Spring- autumn: MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP.
