Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco

Taxonomy: Fam. Pinaceae// Genus: Pseudotsuga// Species: Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Heywood (Pinaceae – key to genera) and Amaral Franco (Pseudotsuga) in Tutin et al. (1964).

Lifeform: Evergreen tree; Phanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to North America- Alaska to Mexico; introduced in elsewhere (Europe and Turkey) according to the according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Not native – introduced in North Macedonia and the Osogovo region.

Habitat:  Coniferous plantations, from the lowland up to 1600 m altitude.

Locality: Ponikva.

Locality: gorge of “Kochanska” River.
