Distribution: Native from Southeast Europe to Central Asia and West Himalaya according to the information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open and dry habitats- dry grassland, hill pastures.

Lifeform: Perrenial, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Late spring- summer: MAY, JUN.
