Taxonomy: Fam. Dipsacaceae// Genus: Lomelosia// Species: Lomelosia palaestina (L.) Raf.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976) as Tremastelma palaestinum (L.) Janchen. The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Domina, 2017) is Lomelosia palaestina (L.) Raf.

Distribution: Native to Italy, Balkan Peninsula, East Mediterranean according to the information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Domina, 2017).

Habitat: Open habitats- dry grassland.

Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Late spring- summer: MAY, JUN.
