Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Matevski in Matevski, 2010 (Oleaceae -key to genera and Ligustrum L.) and Tutin (Oleaceae -key to genera) and do Amaral Franco (Ligustrum L.) in Tutin et al. (1972).
Distribution: Native to Northwest Africa, from Europe to Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Lifeform: Perennial, shrub up to 2-3 m in height; Nanophanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Habitat: River gorges, bushlands, edges of oak forests, mainly in the zone of ass. Querco-carpinetum orientalis.
Flowering period: Spring- early summer: MAY, JUN.
