Amorpha fruticosa L.

Taxonomy: Fam. Fabaceae// Genus: Vicia// Species: Vicia hirsuta (L.) Gray

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 2001).

Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to North America – U.S.A. to Mexico; introduced in New York, parts of South America, Europe and Asia according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Not native to Osogovo. It is found sporadically in the lower parts of the region, in open habitats and alongside roads. Somewhat more common in the rice field area.

Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN.
