Taxonomy: Fam. Poaceae// Genus: Sclerochloa // Species: Sclerochloa dura (L.) P. Beauv.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 5 (Tutin et al., 1980).

Distribution: Native from Europe (except the north) to Xinjiang and West Himalaya, Northwest Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Disturbed ground – ruderal areas and roadsides.

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
