Distribution: Native to Macaronesia, Northwest Africa, South to Southeast Europe according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat:  Dry and open habitats – dry grasslands/ pastures.

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Spring: MAY.
