Taxonomy: Fam. Pinaceae// Genus: Larix// Species: Larix decidua Mill.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Tutin et al. (1964).

Lifeform: Deciduous coniferous tree; Phanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from West and Central Europe to Italy, Southeast Europe and Ukraine according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Raab-Straube, 2014+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Not native to the Osogovo region. Introduced- used for forestation.

Habitat: Coniferous plantations.
