Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Walters and Webb (1972 in Tutin et al.).

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Turkey, Northwest Africa according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlanBase (Marhold, 2011+). Also native to Caucasus according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Forests, on somewhat shaded and moist places. Recorded from c. 800 up to 1400 m altitude in the following localities: “Shtalkovichka” River, Jamishko Osoe and Koshutica (Emirica region).

Flowering period: Spring to early summer (MAY, JUN).
