Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Baum (1968 in Tutin et al.) and Micevski (1995).

Lifeform: Perrenial, shrub – microphanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from South European Russia to Southwest Siberia and Noth China according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew). Also native to North Macedonia according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Villar, 2017+) and Micevski (1995).

Habitat: Found near bodies of water- streams, rivers, water channels, ruderal areas.

Flowering period:  Spring: APR, MAY.
