According to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010) this taxon is considered a synonym of Trifolium alpestre L. var. alpestre.
Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native from Europe to Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Grasslands and pastures, clearings of oak forests.
Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN.
