Distribution: Native from the Mediterranean to Central Asia, Pakistan and Arabian Peninsula; Djibouti according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal – Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (accepted as Dianthusnudiflorus Griff.).
Habitat: Dry and open habitats: grasslands/ pastures.
Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Flowering period: Late spring- Summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.
