Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Silene// Species: Silene gallinyi Rchb.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (1993) as Silene trinervia Sebast. et Mauri, Fl. Roman. 152 (1818). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+) is Silene gallinyi Rchb., Fl. Germ. Excurs.: 815. 1832.

Habitat: Open habitats – grasslands/ pastures and clearings of forests.

Distribution: Native to Italy, Balkan Peninsula to Aegean Islands according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL, AUG.
