Determined according to the botanical key provided by Hendrych (1964 in Tutin at al.) and Matevski (2005).

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Mediterranean region according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Also native to Austria according to The Euro+Med Plantbase (source: Uotila, 2011+).

Habitat: Open habitats- grasslands, clearings and edges of forests.

Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN,JUL, AUG.
