Taxomy: Fam. Primulaceae// Genus: Primula// Species: Primula elatior (L.) L.// Subspecies: Primula elatior (L.) L. subsp. elatior.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Miceski (1998) and Valentine and Kress (1964 in Tutin et al.) as Primula elatior (L.) Hill subsp. elatior, Veg. Syst. 8: 25 (1765). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+) is Primula elatior (L.) L. subsp. elatior, Fl. Angl.: 12. 1754.

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Europe according to the Plants of the World online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Along streams in mountain pastures at c. 1450 – 1500 m altitude (Ponikva region).

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.

Locality: Ponikva, springs of Shtalkovichka (Stara) River. Date: 15.04.2023.
