Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Miceski (1998) and Valentine and Kress (1964 in Tutin et al.) as Primula elatior (L.) Hill subsp. elatior, Veg. Syst. 8: 25 (1765). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+) is Primula elatior (L.) L. subsp. elatior, Fl. Angl.: 12. 1754.

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Europe according to the Plants of the World online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Along streams in mountain pastures at c. 1450 – 1500 m altitude (Ponikva region).

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
