Lifeform: Perennial, shrub or small tree up to c. 4 to 6 m high; microphanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native to Italy, Balkan Peninsula to Türkiye according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Kurtto, 2009+).
Habitat: Sparse woods, edges and clearings of oak forests.
Flowering period: Late spring: MAY.
