Distribution: Native from Europe to Iran, Northwest Africa according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Wet grasslands, near streams and other moist habitats.
Flowering period: Spring-summer: MAY, JUN.
