Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Chater and Walters (1976 in Tutin et al.).

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte or chamaephyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Mozambique to South Africa; introduced in Europe and North America – Mexico according to the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat: Open habitats on disturbed ground, near cultivated land, roadsides. Not native to the Osogovo region- introduced/ alien species. Found sporadically from the mountain foot up to c. 1600 m altitude (Svilanovo region, village of Pantelej, Ponikva, suburban areas in Kochani).

Flowering period: Summer to fall (JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP).

Locality: Svilanovo region.
