Taxonomy: Fam. Sapindaceae// Genus: Acer// Species: Acer platanoides L. The taxonomic classification is given according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (Raab-Straube, 2018+).

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Walters in Tutin et al. (1968) and Matevski in Micevski (2005).

Lifeform:  Tree; phanerophyte (mesophanerophyte) according to the  Raunkiær system.

Distribution:  Native from East Central Europe to Japan and Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  European beech forests.

Flowering period: Spring: APR.
