Distribution: Native from China to Japan according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Not native to the Osogovo region. Introduced – cultivated as ornamental.

Habitat: Cultivated as ornamental plant, it is sporadically found in the Osogovo region as a garden escape near settlements, ruderal areas, river banks.

Flowering period: Early summer: JUN.
