Determined according to the botanical key provided by DeFilipps in Tutin et al. (1980).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Cosmopolitan – native to parts of Europe and Asia, Africa, Southern Canada and USA to South America according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Wet habitats – near streams.

Flowering period: Fall: SEP, OCT.
