Determined as Koeleria gracilis Pers. 1805., Syn. 1: 97 according to the botanical keys provided by Tatić in Josifović (1976). According to Humphries in Tutin et al. (1980) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (Valdés et al., 2009+) this name is a synonym of Koeleria macrantha (Ledeb.) Schultes in Schultes & Schultes fil., Mantissa2: 345 (1824).
Lifeform: Perennial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native to the Temperate Northern Hemisphere – North America – Canada to Mexico; Europe to Russian Far East, China, India and Arabian Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Dry grasslands, hill pastures, rocky terrains.
Flowering period: Late spring – early summer: MAY, JUN.
