Taxonomy: Fam. Orobanchaceae// Genus: Orobanche// Species: Orobanche minor Sm.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Chater and Webb in Tutin et al. (1972).

Lifeform: Obligate root parasite.

Host: Parasitizes on members of the Fabaceae. The recorded plants were found on Medicago sp. as host.

Distribution: Native from West and Central Europe to Caucasus, the Mediterranean, Iraq, Arabian Peninsula; Macaronesia, North and East Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Clearings of forests, grasslands, with members of the Fabaceae.

Flowering period:  Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN.
