Note: In the Osogovo region, the incision of leaflets seems to be a variable characteristic; even in one plant, any degree from typical incision – tridentate apex with 1 or 2 lateral teeth to leaflets incised for 2/3 of the length or almost entirely incised leaflets can occur.

Lifeform:  Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula – Northwest Balkan to Greece according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew); North Macedonia and Greece according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (sorce: Kurtto, 2009+).

Habitat: Open and dry habitats – hill pastures in the southern foot of the mountain, on calcareous soil. Recorded in the hilly region near village of Beli.

Flowering period:  Spring: APR, MAY.
