Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Stachys// Species: Stachys recta L.// Subspecies: Stachys recta subsp. rhodopaea (Velen.) Chrtek.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Matevski (2021) and Ball in Tutin et al. (1972).

Lifeform: Perennial plant, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Stachys recta L. is native from Europe to Iran according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Stachys recta subsp. rhodopaea is native to Bulgaria according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, 2010). This taxon is also recorded for a number of localities across North Macedonia (Matevski, 2021).

Habitat: Rocky terrains.

Recorded in the Zletovska River basin: Stari Grad, on rock cliffs above the Eshterec Stream (25.05.2026).

Flowering period: Late spring – summer (MAY, JUN).).

Locality: Stari Grad – rock cliffs above the Eshterec Stream (Zletovska River basin). Date: 25.05.2026.
