Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native from Mexico to  South America, introduced elsewhere, according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Disturbed ground, alongside roads. Ruderal plant.

Flowering period: Summer to autumn (AUG, SEP).
