Distribution: Native to Southeast Europe – Balkan Peninsula to Romania according to the distribution information by The Euro+Med PlanBase (source: Marhold, 2011).

Habitat: Bushlands, clearings and edges of mixed oak forrests, rocky terrains, river gorges.

Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.
