Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Ajuga// Species: Ajuga chamaepitys (L.) Schreb.// Subspecies: Ajuga chamaepitys subsp. chia (Schreb.) Arcang.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Ball in Tutin et al. (1972) and Matevski in Matevski (2021).

Distribution: Native from East Central Europe and Italy to Kazakhstan and Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open habitats- grasslands, pastures and rocky terrains.

Lifeform: Short lived perennial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Spring – early summer: MAR, APR, MAY, JUN.
