Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native to France, Central Europe to the Apennine Peninsula, Balkan Peninsula and Ukraine according to the distribution information provided by Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Also native to Türkiye according to The Euro+Med Plant Base (source: Marhold, 2011+).
Habitat: Grasslands and pastures up to c. 1400 m altitude.
Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
