Determined according to the botanical key provided by Cook (1968 in Tutin at al.) and Micevski, Kostadinovski and Matevski (2005 in Matevski).

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from West and Central Europe to Ukraine, the Mediterranean, Iran and Uzbekistan according to the distribution information provided by Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Edges and clearings of woods, near roads, moist places – near rivers.

Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN.
