Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Stachys// Species: Stachys scardica (Griseb.) Hayek.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Ball in Tutin et al. (1972) and Matevski in Matevski (2021).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan peninsula according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, 2010)

Habitat: Edges and clearings of oak and European beech forests, grasslands, from c. 800 up to 1400 m altitude.

Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL.
