Taxonomy: Fam. Poaceae// Genus: Bromopsis// Species: Bromopsis erecta (Huds.) Fourr.// Subspecies: Bromopsis erecta (Huds.) Fourr. subsp. erecta.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Smith in Tutin et al. (1980) as Bromus erectus Huds. subsp. erectus, Fl. Angl. 39 (1762). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Valdés et al., 2009+) is Bromopsis erecta (Huds.) Fourr. subsp. erecta.

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Bromus erecta Huds is native from West and Central Europe to the Mediterranean and Iran, Tibet according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Hill pastures.

Flowering period: Late spring – early summer: MAY, JUN.
