Distribution: Native to South and Southeast Europe (Spain to Balkan Peninsula), Moldova, European and Asiatic Turkey to Caucasus according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (Source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010).
Habitat: Found in open habitats- grasslands and pastures, clearings of forests, from the lowland up to c. 1600 m altitude.
